Farm League Rules
To the Parents and Coaches of the Farm League

These are the basic rules and guidelines we will be playing by and enforcing for all games this season.

I encourage all parents and coaches  to support ALL players and enjoy this season. If any parent or coach has any questions please feel  free to contact me.

Everett Little League - Farm League Rules 2008



1. Coach Pitch (to own team) Adults only (18+)


2. Catchers are to be used. In the event that a team is short players they may omit the catchers position where as a coach will assist the pitcher, however a coach may not make a play at home plate or any other base.

Rotate catchers if necessary to speed up game. Please have catchers dressed to start the next inning. You can remove your catcher off the bases to have them ready for next inning.


3. No Stealing or Bunting.


4. Each team will position ten (10) players on the field.  Each team may only position six (6) players on the infield (I.e.: 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, P,C) Each team may position four (4) outfielders in the OUTFIELD (A minimum of 3 feet off the infield).

4a.  If a team has 12 or less players they can place all players in the field (Coaches choice) but only 6 players are to be aligned in the infield. All others must remain a minimum of 3 feet off the infield.

4b. If a team is short players in the field they may borrow players from the opposing team only. Borrowed Players selected can ONLY play OUTFIELD positions. Select ONLY players that are at the bottom of that innings batting order.


4c. Make sure all players play, please rotate players in the game every inning.


5. Place 1 player on Pitchers mound either to the left or right of mound.  (For defense only)


6. All batters are allowed Six (6) swings per at bat, coaches’ discretion. (A foul ball on 6th pitch batter is OUT)


7. Three (3) outs per team per inning, 5 runs scored or Ten (10) batters (whichever comes first)


8. All Players will bat in line up, after 10th batter,  batter 11 will lead off next inning.


9. Ball hit in infield move one (1) base at a time

10. Ball hit into outfield, take as many bases as runner can advance until

ball is returned to the infield whereas all runners will stop at the nearest

base (The base heading towards) (Note: a runner who rounds 3rd base can score at his own risk.  Advance at your own risk. Use best discretion on runner positioning.

11. No advancement on overthrows.

12. No arguing about safe calls or pitches. The coach pitching makes all final decisions, except when umpires are provided.

13. Teach fundamentals.

14. Standings are not kept. I do encourage you to let your team know how

they did (win or lose, coaches discretion)

15. We are on a time limit so keep games moving, have a catcher ready to

start next inning.

16. End of year Jamboree (details to follow) This is your goal.
